Simmered Eggplant with Sesame

5 Eggplant

1 1/2 cup Dashi

2 Tbsps Soy Sauce

2 Tbsps Sake

2 Tbsps Mirin

1 Tbsp Sugar

3 Tbsps Sesame

1 Tbsp Katakuri Powder ( or Kudzu Powder)

1 Tbsp

1, Cut the eggplants with shallow (1/4 inch) slits on the skin.

2, In a sauce pan, put dashi, sake, soy sauce, mirin and sugar. Bring it to boil.

3, Place the eggplants in the sauce pan and simmer for about 15 min.

4, In a small bowl, put katakuriko and water, then mix well.

5, Add the katakuriko mixture.

6. Grind the sesame seeds and add into the simmered eggplant.
